    2 Mechanical property inspection of test plate

     

    After the explosives with stable detonation distance have been prepared, the process test of small test plates is carried out to test the detonation distance of explosives and the bonding strength of composite plates.     Conduct metallographic observation on the transverse and longitudinal directions of the sample, as shown in Figure 2. From the metallographic photos of the longitudinal and transverse specimens in Figure 2, it can be seen that the bonding interface of the c11000/A36 composite plate is the characteristic wavy interface of explosive bonding. This is because, under the action of explosive detonation energy, the copper plate collides with the steel plate instantaneously at a certain tilt angle, and realizes metallurgical bonding under the action of high temperature and high pressure, and its interface is early wavy bonding. It can be clearly seen at the joint interface that there is a vortex at the front part of the wave. The particles in the base layer of the vortex are broken, and the particles are relatively small, and the explosive hardening phenomenon occurs at the interface.

    4 SEM analysis of bonding interface of test plate

     

    Scanning electron microscope analysis was performed on the bonding interface of the copper clad steel astm c11000 plate, as shown in Figure 3. It can be seen from the figure that there is no new phase near the interface. The ED-energy spectrum analysis of the area near the steel side interface shows that there are both Cu and Fe elements in this area. It is obvious that the base and clad elements have diffused. However, because the clad plate is metallurgical bonding at the moment of explosion, the distance of element diffusion is very short, and a small amount of brittle compounds are formed at the interface, which has no effect on the properties of the clad plate.

    5 Preparation of large area composite plate

     

    After the process test of the small test panel, the mechanical property results show that the explosives and heat treatment technology used in the process test of the small test panel are completely suitable, so the process parameters are applied to the preparation of the large plate, that is, the large plate is explosively compounded.
